Hi! I’m Alyssa — I’m 33, based in NYC, and I split my time between working as a full-time private chef/house manager, and creating fashion/lifestyle content on the side. It’s a bit of a double life, and I love it.

We love your content on Instagram - how did you get started with content creation?
I’ve always loved traveling, wearing cute outfits, and sharing little moments of my life on Instagram. I used to make my friends and family take photos of me everywhere (the dedication was real). I was also very intrigued by the NYC influencer world and one day I decided to put myself out there and sent a few DMs asking if anyone wanted to shoot content together, and from there the rest was history!
How would you describe your personal style and what was the journey like to develop your personal style?
I’d describe my personal style as minimal luxe with a bit of an edge. I naturally gravitate toward neutral and muted tones, elevated basics and relaxed/oversized fits. Over the years, I’ve gone through a ton of style phases, but I’ve learned I feel most confident and put together in outfits that are clean, classic, and comfortable. I’m all about looking put together without looking like I spent hours trying.

What was it that brought you to NYC and what are your 3 favorite things about living in the city?
I’m originally from Connecticut, but I was always on the move and spent most weekends exploring New York. I’m drawn to fast-paced environments, so making the move to NYC felt like the most natural next step for me! My top 3 favorite things about living here are: the food is next level, you’re constantly surrounded by different cultures/walks of life and the energy is just unreal— there’s always something going on!
Describe your perfect day in New York! What would you do, where would you eat, what are you wearing?
A perfect summer day in NYC is grabbing my favorite iced oat latte from La Bomboniera, going for a long walk through Central Park, stopping for a glizzy of course, taking the ferry downtown, window shopping in SoHo, and scoring a table for dinner at Emilio’s Ballato. Wearing something comfy of course— a cute summer top, jeans + sneakers.
Getting dressed for the summer in NYC sounds hard, what are some of your best tips for dressing for the heat while maintaining some personality in your outfits?
I like to keep my outfits breezy, relaxed and comfy. I’m almost always in sneakers or comfortable flats because there’s nothing worse than dealing with blisters in the heat.

How do you feel living in NYC has impacted your personal style and creativity?
I feel like NYC is a walking moodboard so the inspiration is literally endless. Style trends are also on constant rotation here so it’s fun to experiment and see which ones compliment my personal style! I know I’m a officially a NYC girl when my wardrobe is basically 50 shades of black ;)
With summer quickly approaching, what are some trends you're excited to style in the upcoming months?
I absolutely have been loving styling jorts! Give me all the colors and silhouettes. And I just love a classic, effortless summer look like linen pants + a tank or an oversized button down with denim shorts.
What advice would you give someone looking to get started as a full-time creator?
Stay true to your own interests, aesthetic, style. Try not to worry about what anyone else is doing because authenticity is very much key when it comes to being a successful content creator in the long term. There is space for everyone and every niche!

Are there other areas of your life that you enjoy expressing yourself artistically outside of social media?
I am a chef by trade so I love experimenting with different flavors and recipes in the kitchen. Food is my love language :)
How are you styling your JBD jeans this spring?
The JBD jeans are the star of the show so I’ve been styling them with a simple tank or tee, and matching my accessories to my shoes for a simple but put together look!
