Tell us more about who you are and what you do!

Hi! My name is Emily and I am a lifestyle content creator based in Dallas, Texas. I enjoy creating artful content that inspires others and hope to create an inclusive and encouraging corner on the internet. Fashion has been a lifelong love of mine. Styling and capturing elevated, on-trend looks is one of my favorite creative expressions.

We love your style, tell us about where you find your inspiration?

Ah, thank you so much! Goodness, I find inspiration from so many places. First and foremost, from my mom, who tragically passed away a little over a year ago from Stage IV Uterine Cancer. She is forever my muse and greatest inspiration. Growing up, she would always rock an oversized blazer with shoulder pads, a good pair of denim, loafers, a statement pair of pearls and of course lipstick - “never leave the house without lips and pearls” she would say haha! I also find inspiration from other style icons on the Internet - Matilda Djerf, Mecah Wirht, Emelie Lindmark, and Mathilde Goehler, just to name a few.

Are you a new year's resolution kind of girl? What are a couple of yours this year?

I love the fresh start - I feel like that is one of God’s tender mercies to us. More so than resolutions, after a lot of reflection on the previous year and prayer, I love to pick a word for my year. This year my word is “intention.” I want to be more intentional and purposeful, which I feel really bleeds into every area of my life. Intentional about the decisions I make, the relationships around me, how I spend my time, the pieces I wear, the space I curate, and the content I create.

What style rules are you bringing into 2024 with you?

Oooo I love this question! With my word for 2024 being “intention,” I want to be more intentional and thoughtful about the pieces I wear and purchase. I envision 2024 being a year where I invest in high quality basics that I will wear over and over again for years to come and even pass down to my kiddos one day, Lord willing. A few trends I am loving: oversized anything and everything, pullover sweaters layered over a white t-shirt, the color red, western chic, and sambas.

What is an outfit formula you always go to when you don’t know what you wear?

A good pair of denim, a white t-shirt, and an outer layer (blazer, chunky cardigan, pullover knit, or leather bomber). This is such a good base that you can change up depending on the season or occasion. If it is a daytime look I would style this with sambas, but if it is an evening look I would wear a little kitten heel.

Are there any big events or fun things you’re looking forward to in the new year?

We actually just bought a house!!! But shhh because I haven’t even announced that on my page yet hehe ;) I am SO excited and feel beyond grateful. It is a charming house built in the 50’s and we will be renovating it / making it our own, while of course maintaining the character. I cannot wait to capture the journey, so definitely follow along if interiors mixed with fashion is your vibe.

How do you like to reset for a new year, a new week, or even a new day?

Plan and prepare. I love sitting down on Sundays and looking at the week ahead, writing down my goals, dreams, and to-dos, and then putting them in their place on each day. When I do this, I feel like I am prepared for my week, instead of letting my week just happen to me. This is definitely something I am not a pro at but am striving to be more consistent at because it really does make the world of a difference in my week and productivity.

How do you like to dress cute even when it's coldddd outside?

Layers, layers, layers! In my opinion, being able to add layers to your outfit is such an easy way to level up your look. Depending on the weather, here are some of my favorite layers to pick from: a turtleneck (!!!), a pullover, cozy knitwear, a neutral scarf, an oversized blazer, and/or a suede long coat.

How are you styling your Just Black Denim jeans this winter?

I actually wore my Kenna Skater Jeans this weekend - my current favorite JBD style. PS. I sized up 3-4 sizes for an effortlessly oversized look and they are PERFECTION. Anyways, this weekend I styled them with a baggy white t-shirt under an oversized brown turtleneck sweater, and a long brown suede coat, accessorized with a red baseball cap and my favorite chocolate brown suede bag. It was a LOOK, if I do say so myself <3

Kaylyn Webb
I have a passion for graphic design. I am always trying to think of different ways to solve problems, or any way to improve an experience. My style is very straight forward and neat. I feel that good design doesn't just look good, but is perfect for the client's needs. I love bold imagery with clean and expressive typography. I am very passionate in everything that I do. When I am not designing, I love spending with my family, friends and my dog Louie. I love being outside when the sun is shining, boating on the lake and getting a good run in every day. Some of my favorite things are sushi, bananas, smoothies, Hawaii, styling hair, blogging, drawing, painting, The Food Network, to-do lists, and eggs.
