What motivated you to start Trendyoutings/your Blog? How long have you been blogging/influencer and how is your experience so far?

Back in 2012, I attended Billabong Design for Humanity. I met a blogger who complimented my outfit and asked me, “Are you a blogger?” That was the moment when I was introduced to the world of blogging. I did not begin writing until I attended my first fashion show in LA as a dresser. I am always taking pictures of everything that I was inspired by, so I thought to myself, “I should definitely write about this show!” From there on, I attended many more events and immersed myself in the blogging industry in LA. I have met many incredible individuals in Two Point Oh! LA group in LA; and I have made amazing friends in OC also. Today, there are several people with who I still keep in touch. I am so grateful for the connections and opportunities I’ve had.

What does your day-to-day look like as an influencer? Do you have any routines you follow?

I am not a full-time influencer, as I currently work full-time in social media marketing. I check through my emails and DM’s every morning. Throughout the day, I would scroll through Instagram for inspiration. On a weekly basis, I would also reach out to brands for collaborations. I used to shoot content on a weekly basis when I had more time. Occasionally I would create content for brands on a project basis. I would then plan monthly photoshoots with friends, including at rented studios in LA.

How has your career changed from college and today?

I came from a fashion background, graduated with Fashion Merchandising Major and Communication Studies Minor. Although my first job was in the swim industry. Then my path transitioned to advertising/digital marketing at my previous agency. There I immersed myself into the wireless telecommunications and entertainment industries. Today, I am working at a different small agency that primarily focuses on all social media marketing services, which I am in the food, beauty, and health industries.

What are some tips you can give to those interested in getting a social media job position?

Understand your client/brand’s voice and aesthetics. Know what kind of content you want to promote and what language you want to use for copy. You manage community communications, which sometimes means that you will have to be open to set some time over the weekend to catch up with comments and DM’s. Usually there is an end of the month campaign report, so understanding data is essential. Having a creative eye is key as well! Other basic skills will include knowing how to use Word, Excel, Keynote (for deck/presentations). It is not expected, but knowing how to use Photoshop and/or Illustrator is a plus! We use these tools to create newsletters, social grids, graphics, stories, and other creatives. Social media is always changing and evolving. Always research and be on a lookout for what is trending. Be open to try new ideas and strategies. I highly recommend reaching out to connections and scheduling one on one’s as well.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? Or what are your goals for the next 5 years?

My partner and I have talked about starting a business together. Although we may not know what it looks like right now, we are excited for the possibilities. I can also see myself getting married, starting a family, and perhaps buying a house.

How has your style changed from the beginning of your fashion career to now?

When I was in college, I was into all sorts of patterns and colors, bright and bold too! Since then, my style has become more minimal, sophisticated, and elevated. I do still love a pop of color here and there, but not as vibrant as before.

We see you gravitate towards a chic, minimal, monochrome wardrobe on Instagram. What are some/5 must-have basics you can’t live without?

My top 5 must-have basics include a black leather jacket, beige blazer, black pointed boots, black jeans, and a white button up.

Describe yourself in one word & why?
